Linda Tuck-Jenkins started her writing career at age 12 when she wrote a never-published mystery in the tradition of Nancy Drew. For good or ill, her early writing career was nipped in the bud when school testing determined she had an aptitude for math and science. So she was steered down that track and went on to graduate from Westhampton College, University of Richmond and received the first MA in Economics ever awarded by Virginia Commonwealth University.
From that background, Linda took a very traditional path as a stock market analyst, university professor, official in Virginia state government and finally as President of her own electric consulting company. A nationally recognized expert in a niche that was waning because of electric utility deregulation, she decided to return to her childhood love—fiction writing.
Her first book, STARPEOPLE: THE SIRIAN REDEMPTION was First Runner-Up for the Coalition of Visionary Retailers' (COVR) Best New Age Fiction of 2001 and a Finalist for the 2002 IPPY Prize for Visionary Fiction.
A transplant to Central Florida, she was convinced the ocean would enhance her creativity and convinced her one and only husband to move to the quaint Atlantic town of New Smyrna Beach, FL, that is the setting for the comical DAFFODILS* Mystery series. Described as "Witty and hilarious" by Midwest Book Review, THE TURTLE MOUND MURDER—first book in the trilogy—is in its fifth printing. MURDER IS THE PITS, has been hailed as "a triumph." MURDER IN THE STACKS, described as "hard to put down," was released in November 2010.
